Açaí Bowls

Serves: 3


  • 1/2 cup non-dairy milk (almond, coconut, cashew, or soy)
  • 1 lg. frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 1 frozen unsweetened acai packet (I use Sambazon unsweetened)
  • 3 T chia seeds
  • Toppings: granola, coconut, nuts, nut butter, 1 T hemp hearts (protein), fresh fruit (especially bananas, blueberries, mango, strawberries, and kiwi), etc.


  1. Place the milk, banana, berries, chia seeds, and acai packet in a high-power blender that has a tamper.
  2. Turn the blender on low and use the tamper to push the frozen fruit and acai down. Continue to blend on low until creamy and smooth. If you need to add a little more milk, you can, but don’t add too much or the mixture will not be thick.
  3. Divide into bowls and top with desired toppings like granola, unsweetened coconut, nuts, a drizzle of nut butter, hemp hearts, and/or fresh fruit.
  4. Serve immediately.
