Serves: 4
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. green beans, trimmed (fresh or frozen from Costco)
- 2 tbs olive oil
- 1/2 tsp sea salt & 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (plus more to taste)
- 1/4 cup sliced almonds, roasted
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/4 of a fresh lemon
Directions:
- Steam the green beans until slightly tender, don’t fully cook. Skip this step if using frozen beans.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet or pot over medium-high heat.
- Add the green beans.
- Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir together. Cover and cook for 12-15 minutes (until they are cooked), stirring frequently.
- Reduce the heat if the beans are browning too quickly. For crispier green beans, remove the lid for the last 4 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the sliced almonds and parmesan.
- Sprinkle lemon juice over beans, stir, taste, and add more seasonings, if needed.
