Shishito Peppers

Serves: 4


  • 8 ounces (3 heaping cups) shishito peppers
  • 1 tbs extra-virgin olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 tbs tamari
  • 1 lime
  • Nutritional yeast (optional)


  1. Preheat a medium skillet over medium heat and add the oil.
  2. Add the peppers and let them cook, stirring every minute or so, until they are tender with charred spots, about 5-7 minutes on each side.
  3. Add in the tamari sauce and stir.
  4. Squeeze the lime over the top and mix again. Sprinkle nutritional yeast over the peppers.
  5. Serve with a little bowl on the side for the pepper stems.
