Whole Wheat Honey Banana Bread

Yield: 1 Loaf


  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 2 t baking powder
  • 1 t baking soda
  • 1/4 t cinnamon
  • 1/4 t nutmeg
  • 1/4 t salt
  • 3/4 cup mashed bananas
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1/2 cup carob chips (optional)


  1. Stir together dry ingredients.
  2. Mash banana and add water and honey.
  3. Add to dry ingredients.
  4. Bake in greased loaf pan at 325 for 40 (check at 35) minutes or in greased muffin tins for 20-25.

    I ve also been making banana and almond milk smoothies, which sound just like your liquados, lately when I get a craving for frozen yogurt. I ve got a store-bought gluten-free flour mix, do you think I could substitute it in this recipe for the whole-wheat flour, to make it GF?
